Golden Century Wine Bank
F&B INTERIOR / VISUAL IDENTITY DESIGN
Sydney, Australia
Golden Century Wine Bank is a milestone project celebrating 30 years anniversary of the Golden Century Group establishment. The design concept is to accentuate the marriage of wine and traditional Cantonese cuisine, providing a 180-person private dining space on level three of Golden Century on Sydney Sussex street, including a hidden gem, a private cellar that houses more than 5000 bottles of Golden Century’s collection, a tribute and inspiration for any food-loving wine connoisseur.
The interior features a great wall of wine - 36 customised fridges providing a backdrop to the purpose-built level above the existing restaurant. The choice of an aged dark walnut palette are expressed in various form: a seamless wall that lined the full length of the space, with an articulated slot highlighting the semi open kitchen behind; a slatted grid ceiling that concealed the clutterness of operable wall tracks, mirrored by a seamless botanic themed Bolon floor finishes throughout, all to achieve a timeless, surreal hideout in the heart of Chinatown.
